A 500ml glass bottle of cold-pressed, completely unblended and unfiltered extra virgin olive oil from Honest Toil. Although you can cook with this oil we think it’s best enjoyed drizzled over salads or used as a dipping oil. Marvellous!
Honest Toil is a project run by Tom and Juli and is a small business with sustainability at its core. The olives used to produce this oil are hand harvested, without strain on the tree or surrounding wildlife, from small local family farms based just south of Kyparissia, on the west coast of the Peloponnese, Greece. It?s pressed on the village presses which are locally owned and function on a collective bases where farmers use the presses in return for a percentage of their oil. Just how it’s been for centuries.
A truly small batch production, this is oil really is fresh from the press. It?s completely unfiltered, everything is pressed the same day it?s picked and it is completely unblended: unlike most ?extra virgin olive oil? found on supermarket shelves. Which is why it tastes ridiculously good. As it’s unfiltered, the oil contains the sediment from olive skins and pips, giving it a great green opaqueness with a thick texture.
