This medium cracked Bulghur is a whole grain made from durum wheat and has a mild nutty flavour . It’s a good source of fibre and protein and is a common ingredient in many dishes from the Middle East and Mediterranean.

Serve as a side dish or with mixed with vegetables, as a salad, in soups, as a risotto, or even in sweet dishes.

To cook you can boil the bulghur wheat in water for 10-15 mins.Alternatively cook like couscous by putting it in a heat proof bowl and covering with boiling water. Leave to soak for 20-30 mins until the grains are tender and the water is absorbed. This method will give you a chewier texture, which is perfect for salads like tabbouleh. It can also be boiled from raw in soups and stews.
