I’m super excited that we are now able to offer oils on refill at our Oxfordshire markets and pop-ups. We’ve currently got two fabulous oils available for refill:
Honest Toil Olive Oil Refills
Cold-pressed and unfiltered. Although you can cook with this oil, it’s best enjoyed drizzled over salads or used as a dipping oil.
Honest toil is a fellow small business with sustainability at its core. The olives used to produce this oil are hand harvested from small, local family farms. Thee farms are based just south of Kyparissia, on the west coast of the Peloponnese, Greece. It’s pressed on the village presses which are locally owned and function on a collective bases where farmers use the presses in return for a percentage of their oil. Just how it’s been for centuries.
Cotswold Gold Rapeseed Oil Refills
This is a premium, extra virgin rapeseed oil made using traditional cold pressing methods. The rapeseed crops are grown on the Bedlam family’s arable farm near Broadway, Worcestershire. They select the finest seeds to press to create their vibrant, golden oil. This is my favourite oil to cook with. It has a high flashpoint of 240° and so gives a crispy finish to fried and roasted foods whilst retaining its light, nutty flavour.
Both these oils come to me in drums that get returned and refilled so there’s no waste. Just bing your own oil bottle to refill or you can buy a pre-filled glass one and bring it back next time you need a refill.
We can’t currently offer these for refill for home delivery orders but do have pre-filled bottles available to order online.
